First round of the Von Hagge

We teed off at 10:40 a great time for me allowed me to rest and take my time driving over since it takes and hour. I was able to get there in plenty of time and was able to do my 45 minute warm up like used to do when i was on tour. I then took my practice putting tool to the green and only worked for 10 minutes from 8-10 feet.

I rolled the ball well and was very conscious about having a loose grip pressure when i stroked the ball.

We teed off both in the fairway on one. I hit my ball in the bunker on one and my partner hit the green.

I made bogie and he made par. I played the next 15 holes at 2 under and was striking the ball very well. The rains came again on 17 and being in a hurry i missed a 3 footer not doing what i was supposed to do set up properly and light grip pressure so we made bogie on 17. I then hit a good drive on 18 middle of fairway 175 out. It is raining and slight wind. That is a stock 6 iron for me and again being in a hurry i gripped it a bit to tight wasn’t able to totally release the club and it landed on the edge of the green backed up into the water. I made double but thankfully my pattern laid up after driving it in the trees and made bogie while it was raining hard.

We finished at even par and i thought that was a pretty good score but later found out were were 4 shots back after the first round and was tied for 4th.

My partner felt good about playing and was much more relaxed after the first couple of holes and was looking forward to the next day. He was also concerned about the weather conditions being poor for the next day and i told him the worse the conditions the better chance we will have because of patience and focus. He said he looked forward to playing tomorrow.
