Mesquite Amateur

Have been at the Mesquite Amateur for the last 6 days. 2 days practice rounds and three days playin gin the tournament and of course 2 days traveling.

We played Falcon Ridge, Oasis (Palmer), and The Palms golf courses. Was fortunate to bring my wife and daughter along with a friend from Traditions. We also meet many friends from Walden. I also met so many new friends and also ones from last year. It was a great time and i highly recommend the tournament for anyone and all handicaps as well not to mention age groups fro 25 to 95 which was the oldest player that played in the tournament this year. They also have age groups for women and that is also 25 – 84 which was the oldest women competitor.

The weather was great the first day we played in the practice round being only in the low 90’s and very little wind at Falcon Ridge. We met two great men that they paired us with John and Chris. They were great and helped us around the course since it was our first time to play. They were also enjoyable to play being just great guys. We learned that John was from Canada and a former hockey player very strong and hit the ball well. Chris was a former police and now a greens keeper and we discussed the many aspects of the course conditions and what he thought of the conditions.

It was a great day and had fun learning from these the great men and playing a wonderful course with great elevations changes and canyons to hit it over and around not to mention water and streams.

This picture doesn’t do the elevation change justice but a nice picture of the hole on Falcon Ridge
